 FAQs

  • Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore your goals, and go over any questions you might have about the process. It’s important to us that you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the start. This session also helps us decide together whether we’re a good fit for your needs.

  • Standard sessions are 53-55 minutes long. Most clients start with weekly sessions, especially in the beginning, to build consistency and momentum. Over time, the frequency may shift depending on your progress and preferences.

  • There’s nothing you need to prepare formally. Just find a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking openly. If it helps ease any nerves, you’re welcome to jot down a few things you’d like to discuss or questions you have for me.

  • Our work is grounded in a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive approach. We draw from psychodynamic therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to support you in exploring your emotions, patterns, and goals. Our focus is to help you feel seen in the full complexity of your identity, culture, and lived experience.

  • If we are not in-network with your insurance, we can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We encourage you to check with your provider to understand your specific coverage for out-of-network mental health services. Usually the insurances may qualify for out-of-network reimbursement are PPO plans.

  • We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) or missed appointments will incur a $75 fee, which is not billable to insurance. This policy helps us honor the time we’ve set aside for you.
